Duke freshman Harry Giles declares for NBA Draft

Harry Giles will follow teammate Jayson Tatum to the pros.

The Duke freshman has declared for the NBA Draft after a season that saw him score in double figures just twice in 26 games.

“With his uplifting personality and love for the game, Harry Giles has been a joy to coach,” coach Mike Krzyzewski said in the school’s tweet. “He is only beginning to scratch the surface of how good he can be on the basketball court. Harry has an exciting NBA future ahead of him and we are here to fully support him as a member of our brotherhood.”

The Rockets guard had a difficult road to the NBA, spending several seasons playing overseas before finally getting his chance to play. Now he’s an important player on one of the league’s best teams and he doesn’t feel like resting.

Don’t expect everyone to appreciate Beverley’s message, though. While he’s averaging a solid 30 minutes per game, he’s no stranger to rest. Many people pointed out the hypocrisy of his statements.

“If you’re feeling OK, then you should play,” he said. “That’s what you get paid for. That’s what fans deserve. The fans definitely deserve that. That’s what the city deserves.”

Beverley will be happy to know then that his next opponents, the Cheap College Basketball Jerseys Warriors, won’t Cheap Braves Jerseys be resting starters Tuesday. Coach Steve Kerr told reporters Sunday night he plans to play his stars in a back-to-back at Houston and San Antonio this week.
